How to Contribute
Making a contribution.
Thank you for your interest in supporting this campaign. Under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, all contributions must be made directly to the campaign's official bank account and must include the contributor's full identifying information. Below are the legally compliant steps for making a contribution.
Eligibility to contribute
- You are an individual who is normally resident in Ontario, and
- You are not a corporation, trade union, or organization. These are prohibited contributors.
Provide contributor information
Every contribution must be accompanied by the contributor's full identifying information:
- Full legal name
- Residential address in Ontario
- Email address, for receipt issuance
- Contribution amount
- Confirmation that you are an eligible individual contributor
This information is required by law before any contribution can be accepted. Include it with your e-transfer message or your cheque, as set out in Step 2.
Send your contribution
Option A: E-Transfer
Send your contribution to the campaign's dedicated account:
info@sileenphillips-ysw.caIn the message field, include your full name, your full Ontario address, and "Municipal Campaign Contribution". This information must appear in the message field for the contribution to be accepted.
Option B: Cheque
Cheques must be payable to:

Please include your full name and Ontario address on the cheque or in an enclosed note.
Receipt issuance
Once your contributor information and the e-transfer or cheque are both received, the campaign will issue an official receipt for your records.
Receipts are issued only to the individual contributor and must reflect the full value of the contribution.
Important compliance notes
- Contributions cannot be anonymous.
- Contributions cannot be made by corporations, businesses, trade unions, or groups.
- Contributions cannot be made through third-party payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, or GoFundMe.
- All contributions must be deposited directly into the campaign's single, dedicated bank account.
- The campaign cannot accept cash contributions over $25.
- The campaign cannot accept contributions exceeding $1,200 from one individual.
